Mighty to Save!

•April 1, 2009 • 1 Comment

I just love this song.  So, I am posting the words here, and putting a link to a video of it.  It says it all.  I can listen to it over and over.

Everyone needs compassion
A love that’s never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour
The hope of nations

Saviour He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
Forever Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
And fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I surrender, I surrender

Saviour He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
Forever Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

Shine Your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King, Jesus

Saviour He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
Forever Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave

Shine Your light and let the whole world see
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King, Jesus

WinterFest 2009 Poem

•March 25, 2009 • 1 Comment

Here is the Poem for this year!  Thanks Karen!  Great job once again!!

Life @ 212

The fun, the friends, the worship was great

But, when it came to Winterfest, they could hardly wait,

There were dinners and sponsors and families, who gave,

They obeyed the Lord, and the way they did pave

There were countdowns on Facebook and updates each week,

Can I see the rooming list?…….Please, just one peek?

Each week we added still more want to go,

Heath tried to stay home, “but I’m sad don’t you know”?

“You are my last”, Dawna she cried.

But then Kara called……….well, I guess Dawna lied.

That made 89, the largest group yet,

For fun, praise and worship……. Excited?  You bet!

We checked in with the boss, and gathered in prayer,

A picture for Jeff, squeeze close if you dare,

Then we loaded in cars, the kids on the bus,

James wasn’t driving, so he stayed with us.

We didn’t get far when Toby turned right,

Not sure where he went, was he stuck at the light?

Down Redbud, to Bojangles we’ve just enough time,

I can go 90 and we’ll catch up just fine.

We stopped just for dinner, at the motel we’ll meet.

No blankets available, Jim said turn up the heat.

But a late trip to Wal-Mart for blankets and sheets,

Made everyone happy, and that you can’t beat.

With rooms to the outside could anything be worse?

Five guys and one bed, that seems like a curse.

Hoping all had slept well, we loaded the bus.

Pigeon Forge waiting, shopping and go carts a must.

Patrick talked junk to Tracy all day,

But when the race neared the end, it was Tracy all the way.

Lisa was the greatest; her car hit them all,

But Molly, she said, “I hit every wall”.

The Lord held the rain, we had a great day

Then back to get ready and we were on our way.

Friday’s service was powerful, Jentzen Franklin spoke the word.

“The Spirit of Python”, he said and we heard,

It wraps you in sin, and takes away your breath,

Then before you realize there’s spiritual death.

He called on the Youth, come down if you dare

Don’t let Python trap you, leaving you bare.

Our kids all responded, and oh they were blessed,

The Holy Spirit was welcome as our special guest.

With no room in our Inn, and our restaurant closed,

Where will we eat, God only knows.

But, God made a way, Bellacino’s was kind,

Just two hours past closing, they didn’t even mind.

One o’clock to the room, though some went back out.

The Honeymooners found Jeff, and then they did shout.

To Gatlinburg we went, though the rain it did fall

Some walked around town, others went to the mall.

That night was Casting Crown and then Eddie James

They cried “let’s have a dance team”, so Cory took names.

“Freedom”, they sang, “You should have been there”,

Then Tommy Bates spoke, of sin’s bondage we bear.

He told through Christ Jesus we find freedom and release,

Through forgiveness of sin, in our hearts we find peace.

He called for the kid’s who by addictions were bound,

They prayed for release ‘till peace they had found.

They danced in the Spirit, they worshiped and prayed,

Donna danced and she jumped, then out she was laid.

Someone said “she’s just drunk”, as they carried her out,

“Drunk in the Spirit “, the kids they did shout.

Sunday morning had come almost time to go home,

One more time to worship at last it had come.

I’ll put aside rhymes for one moment to find

How Reggie would want for me to remind:

She decks herself with rings and jewelry and

goes to meet her lover, but me she forgot.

She decks herself with rings and jewelry and

goes to meet her lover, but me she forgot.

She decks herself with rings and jewelry and

goes to meet her lover, but me she forgot

………..DECLARES THE LORD.

The fun it was great, the Lord he did bless,

But what happens when at home we’re a mess?

Don’t dress yourself up, the world to go meet,

Forgetting the Lord, you’ll get in too deep.

We loaded buses and cars and set out for home,

After lunch some of the cars started to roam.

Toby was gone, Angel passed sitting still,

Jim tried to catch Rene, said he had the will.

Jim arrived first; he’s livin’ the dream,

That’s only ‘cause Rene stopped for ice cream.

I can’t tell you how much this trip meant to me,

Or how special you are, and will always be.

My heart’s full of love for you all that’s a fact,

And never forget……”I got your back”!

WinterFest-2009

Ok, I am starting the post now.  Last year I tried every night after each Winterfest service to post pics and comments about the days events so parents could keep up with what we were up to.  I figure I will start the post now.  I will try to post information here leading upto our trip.  Parents, Students, you too can post items here such as questions, what you are looking forward to, memories of past WinterFest trips or anything else.  When we actually get to WinterFest, I will use this page to keep you up to date on what we are up to.  Below you will find the 2009 WinterFest Promo!  here are some links to official WinterFest websites:

Also, be sure to check out the Fund Raiser page for fundraising info here: http://lifestudentoutreach.wordpress.com/fund-raisers/

1/25/2009:  It is getting close!!  Less than 2 months to go.  I know I am getting excited, and I know the students are as well.  I was thinking just the other day how good the past years have been at WinterFest, and wondering, “man, how are they going to top what they did last year?”  Whew!  glad that is not my job, trying to make something that is awesome even better!  We should have information like where exactly we will be staying in the near future.  When I get that info, I will post it here.  Good news is, we are taking a charter bus this year (means we won’t have to wait for Brother James to keep up with us!  HaHa, sorry James, I had to!–Jeff made me do it!).  Once we find out where we are staying we are also going to try and do something about having some food already set up and waiting for us after each service.   This way we shouldn’t have to deal with lines, and places being closed.  Well that is all for now!  God Bless!

2/23/2009:  HaHa!  It has been around a month since my last post.  You say “so, what does that mean?”  It means we are a month closer to going to WinterFest!!  Hello Captain Obvious!  Seriously though, it is getting close, and the Lord is doing his “thing” with our kids already during Wednesday services.  Don’t get me wrong, he is always there, but here lately he has been beating some kids down!  I mean that in a good way!  He has been working on these kids hearts like I have never seen before in our services.  We have been having on average 50+ kids at each service and I would say at LEAST 1/2 of them are coming to the alter for various reasons.  Praise the Lord!  Chains are being broken and kids are being set free.  I am getting chills just thinking about it and typing this.  We had our Chaperones meeting last night and we have a great group of Chaperones who Love these kids.  I have been fortunate enough not to have to chaperone this year, but I still get to go.  This means updates, updates, updates to this post.  What I am planning on doing with the power of modern technology is to update this post as well as pictures through out each day, not just in the early morning hours when things start to “settle-down” at the hotel.  So make sure when we are there that you check it through out the day…your boss won’t mind (note to Boss: your employee needs a raise!) .  If he does, make him sit down and read it with you!  Until next time, God Bless you all for letting us take your kids to WinterFest!!

2/26/2009:  Hotel Details are IN!  We will be staying at the Econolodge-Riverside.  Check them out here:  http://www.econolodge-pigeonforge.com/ .  Looks like a pretty nice place, although we won’t be there too often, it is still nice to know that it looks pretty decent.  Praise the Lord!!  If you want to see a video tour of it, click here:  http://www.econolodge-pigeonforge.com/econolodge_pigeon_forge_video.php

For those of you who like maps, here is where it is.  If I remember correctly, it is just before the place we stayed at last year.

Thurs, March 12th:  WINTERFEST IS HERE!!!

Ok, we leave in 5 hours and the kids are excited! (me too!!)  We had a great praise and worship service last night to kick it all off.  We will be leaving sometime around 4:30, make a stop for some dinner up the road and check into the hotel hopefully around 9:00.  I pray that the Lord provides us with safety during our travels, stress free days, and spirit filled services.  I cannot say enough about this group of kids and their willingness, and openess in worshipping the Lord.  They blew my mind last night at service.  There was a point when the praise band was singing Amazing Grace that the students in the congregation actually drowned out the praise band during the song.  I had to look at Rene and ask him if he had a back up singers cd playing!  (don’t worry Rene, I won’t tell anyone your allergies were bothering you and making your eyes water!)  They sounded like Angels!  Ok, so my next post will be some time tonight from the hotel and I will tell you about our journey.  Don’t forget to use the link at the top of this page to watch WinterFest Live!  Please keep us in your prayers and ask the Lord to touch hearts this weekend, to change lives, to break chains of bondage, and to bring these kids into a closer, loving relationship with him!!  Talk to you tonight!!

3/12/2009 – 10:45pm:  Well we finally made it!  Actually we have been here since around 9:30.  Two vehicles went ahead of the bus and got our rooms situated so when the bus got here it would be a pretty smooth transition.  We also have made it to the WinterFest checkin in time to check in and get our passes.  One of the workers at checkin told us that we have one of, if not the biggest group here to attend Winterfest.  A lot of the youth are in the pool right now.  This hotel has an indoor pool but unfortunately, they do not seem to have any big common areas to accomodate us for a devotional, or for a place for us to sit  and eat after each service, but I know the Lord will provide something.  They also say quiet time begins around 11:00, which is kind of funny.  Funny because, we will do good to even get back here by 11:00, not to mention when we get back we will be feeding 80+ hungry people!!  Once again, the Lord will provide something.  We have taken some pictures and some video but I am not sure if I will get a chance to post any of it or not tonight.  If not, I will post some during the day tomorrow.  Remember, to access the pictures, there is a link to them on the bottom right of the main page.  More to come tomorrow!!

Here is a Video:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/lifestudentoutreach/3350887184/

3/13/09- Friday 1:20pm:

We are at the Outlet shops and NASCAR speedpark.  Thankfully the Lord has kept the rain away so far today and we have been able to walk the shops and drive some Go-Karts.  I have posted some pictures (Thanks Rene!) but not all from yesterday.  I actually posted them using my blackberry as a modem for my laptop so it was some what slow going.  It got 44 % of what I was trying to post and I cancelled it.  Hopefully I will have better luck tonight from the Hotel.  We will be leaving here around 3:00 to go back to the hotel and change, then head to the service.  That’s all for now, next post should be sometime when you all are asleep!!–Must be nice!!  God Bless.

3/14/09-9:10am:

Service was GREAT!!!  Sorry not to post last night so you would have an update this morning when you woke up but it was late when we got back.  A special thanks to Bellacino’s who closed at 11:00 but stayed open for us even though the bus did not get there until 11:45.  Ok, now for the service.  One of the highlights of the night was Joe Castillo who does some amazing sandart. (www.sandstory.com)  I will put a video of some of his stuff below this post.  Jentzen Franklin was the speaker last night and spoke about in a sense about a lot of common, for some reason acceptable sins and traps of this world.  About how Satan deceives us into thinking things are ok to do, but how it traps us and takes over us and pulls us away from the Lord.  He presented it in such a way that the kids could relate to by showing us numerous well known celebrities and athletes in skits and how they have fallen from their worldy status.  Fallen either personally, or completely fallen been killed or killed themself.  Unfortunately I am not as eloquent at posting his message as he was at giving it.  I will tell you this though, the Holy Spirit was EVERYWHERE!!!  After the altar call we did not have a seat that still had one of our students in it.  The Lord was working on each and everyone one of us.  There was not a dry eye in the entire arena.  Tonight is sure to be even better.  from years past I seem to remember Friday nights service as being a servic that the kids maybe felt like a warm up, or they maybe used it as a way to feel out how they felt and didn’t completely open up until the Saturday service.  Judging by how they opened up last night they blew right past the “warm up” and are wide open for the Lord.  This no doubt is due to the last couple of months of amazing services we have been having on Wednesdays, as well as all of you who have been praying.  I cannot wait for tonight!! I encourage you to watch it on-line tonight.  There are a few people back home who watched last night and messages from them say they too were blessed.  Look for the link at the top of this page to watch.  I will try to get some pictures put up at some point today so check back often.

Joe Castillo (www.sandstory.com)

Sat 3/4/09 – 12:40 pm:

Amazing service!  I don’t know how else to describe it.  We had numerous kids who were baptised in the Spirit.  The service from the very start to the very end and beyond was simply POWERFUL.  There was demons cast out of lives, there was lives given over to the Lord, I cannot even figure out what to write about it.  I can’t think of the words that would be sufficient to describe it.  We had kids who were annointed and laid there hands on their peers and the Holy Spirit worked through them.  It was hot in the arena and I had Goose Bumps and Chills.  There were tears, smiles, and every emotion that could possibly be felt was felt.  The Holy Spirit was everywhere.  Our kids, YOUR kids had an experience that they will not soon foget, if ever.  I can’t wait to put together a presentation for all to see.  I would put some pictures up now but I am truely beat tired, and I am not tired because of lack of sleep believe it or not as I got around 7 hours of sleep last night because we got a late start to the day today because of weather.  I am, as well as everyone else, tired because of nothing more than tonights experience.  Tomorrow is sure to be a blessing as well.  As we wrap up the WinterFest weekend I ask that you keep our Youth in your prayer daily.  I ask that you pray they will continue to be fired up for the Lord and that this is not just something in passing.  That the Lord continues to be the first thought, the last thought, and the most important thought in their lives everyday.  It seems like everyday our world just get’s worse and worse.  What we need in this country is  a revival, a wave of Godliness to spread, and these kids can start it.  The Lord is truely working in their lives and I pray that they only get closer to him, that they love Him more and more with each passing day, and that they become, and exhibit in their everyday lives what their lost friends need.  I thank the Lord for allowing me to be a part of something like this.  And I thank you for allowng your kids to be a part of something like this as well.  When we arrive home, ask your kids what it was like, I don’t mean make small talk with them, I mean ask them, ask them what they felt, what they experienced, what they thought, and just listen to them, look into their eyes, you will surely see a new person!  Praise God!  God bless you all!

PS:  sorry for any rambling, I am typing this through one eye as the other is just about asleep, yet,  I feel like laughing, I feel like crying and I feel like going into the parking lot and running around through the puddles!  Good night morning!

Sunday, 3/15 – 8:10pm:

Well, we finally made it home sometime around 5:00.   Our weekend was amazing, and we are all very tired.  I actually just woke up from a power nap, and I am now ready to go to bed!!  Anyhow, tomorrow I am going to try and get all of the pictures posted to the web for all to see so check back Tuesday and see what we’ve got.  A special thanks needs to go out to Rene, our very own “Johnny on the Spot” photographer for most of the pictures!  Rene was all over the place, including back stage, and leaning on center stage!  He walked up and down the stairs so many times he probably “Stair Mastered” a marathon.  I will also be posting Karens yearly WinterFest poem when she finishes it and you will want to be sure to read it as it is lways a treat!

STUDENTS!!  (and anyone else too!):

You may now be asking yourself, or thinking, ok, this weekend was amazing, but now what do I do?  Well here is some help:

Matthew 28: 18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

What is better than “myspace” and “facebook” ?

•May 28, 2008 • 1 Comment

Do you like what MySpace and FaceBook offer?  How about something with a much more Christ-Like atmosphere?  Check out www.faithitup.com “where God’s kids hangout”.

(From Faith-News-Network):

Social networking site FaithItUp.com is a lot like MySpace and Facebook, but serves the niche market of Christians seeking friendship and community on-line. The website is celebrating its one-year anniversary this month, and has quickly grown to over 11,000 members.

The site has a lot to offer Christians, including blogging, chat, video sharing, games, and of course, making new friends. Over 800 Christian music artists are also on the site, connecting with their fans and finding new ones. Music genres include Gospel, R&B, Rap, Rock, Latin, Praise & Worship, and Contemporary Christian. Many of the artist’s profiles include a media player, allowing site members to listen to a sampling of the artist’s music on-line. Each month there is a different featured music artist.

The site membership is growing rapidly, and all Christians age 13 or older are invited to join. One member Joyce says, “I love it because it is very encouraging. I hope that more and more Christians will continue to come and continue to make it a great place to be.”

Thanks Karen!!

Winterfest 2008

“Flood Warning”

As the “Flood Warning” loomed we gathered the teens,

Who had waited in anticipation like we’d never seen.

We loaded the trailer, took pictures, kissed mom.

We gathered for prayer and then we were gone.

With fifty eight people, two SUVs and three vans

All were packed tight with Winterfest fans.

With Jim in the lead and Tracy in draft,

Angel not far behind, Kevin and James in the back

We soon arrived at the Hampton Inn on the River

Then we waited for James…..well, better late than never.

Then we sorted out luggage, keys, and roommates

Will we ever get in bed?  It’s getting quite late.

We met for devotion, instructions on where to go,

Angel called “Thundercats” the boys replied “ho-oo”

We aired up our mattress’, tucked the kids in so tight

That night they were tired, they put up no fight.

Jeff and Jim went to Knoxville, our seats to secure

The others went for gas but we weren’t so sure

Was Kevin practicing for Nascar as the pace car he took the lead,

With Ironhead Tracy right behind him, let’s all take heed.

Swervin’ Irvin, that’s Angel, for he has no fear,

Then James they called Waltrip ‘cause he brings up the rear.

The GPS said U-turn then U-turn again,

Kevin took us in circles as we started our spin.

The kids were all ready for a day filled with fun,

This was tough for racers when we lost the sun.

The boys joined the shopping, then Jeffrey did call

Can you buy me these pants, seventy dollars that’s all?

Lunch at the Olive Garden, only thirty-five you say,

The kids were so good, gave some adults back their faith.

We loaded up the vans counted once and again,

Then back to the hotel, adults rest if you can.

We met for our passes, then loaded up for church,

The excitement was building for worship and such.

We all took our seats, then look on the stage,

Donna was playing the game that is all the rage.

“Are you smarter than a fifth grader”, Donna did show,

She dazzled us see, she’s got brains you all know,

But we were much more impressed with the love that she shared

When she won the Ipod….. but gave it up cause she cared.

Then the service it started, Jason Crabb touched our hearts,

Then David Crowder Band led us into the next part.

Jentezen Franklin he spoke, as he handed out salt

Of a covenant with God, don’t take it for naught.

Remember the sacrifice without salt is no good,

Don’t say you’re a Christian then do as you would.

We felt in our hearts, God was starting the work,

But as we returned to our hotel some kids went berserk.

There was running in halls and slamming of doors,

And at three in the morning Spiderman climbed down two floors,

He scaled up a pole to a balcony, ‘cause he can,

To talk with some girls, their chaperone was no fan.

She cried out to Angel “tonight you take them all”

No problem for me, if your girls can climb that wall.

So, needless to say there wasn’t much sleep,

But we headed for Gatlinburg, up that hill oh so steep.

Some went to ice skate, others went to shop,

The rain fell on us all, but did not make us stop.

Back to the hotel to gather for the next page,

Excitement was building as Eddie James took the stage

They danced and they sang, wow it was great,

We’ll never forget we sang till it was late.

No shackles no chains no bondage we cried

That was just the start, the crowd never died.

“You should have been there when I came thru”,

Brought so much excitement for me and for you.

Tommy Bates came forward, and he then sang,

Then the preaching of the Word, would end with a bang.

He called out the Demons of Suicide to go,

Some ran to the altar, and the spirit did flow.

He called for those senior boys who would give

Everything to Jesus, and learn how to live.

Amazing, I found God’s presence was shown,

For there is no way the preacher would have known,

Life Church is striving for unity to be,

With English and Spanish for all to see

He called for the Church to make this their plan,

To unite us in worship as much as we can.

Then he said that God told him of one special blessing,

He promised the Hispanic Church, they were excited there’s no guessing.

God truly touched hearts, I was so proud to be there,

The kids were the greatest they all seemed to care,

About our love for one another and the unity we share.

We will love one another and their burden’s we’ll bear.

Saturday was a late night, the spirit was strong.

We sat in the lobby and God gave us a song.

Finally after two I sent them to bed,

But some were so stubborn they stayed up all night instead.

That was all great till they wanted to try,

To sleep thru the service, but nothing got by,

They all thought that they could be sly

But they could not escape Jeff’s watchful eye.

The trip home was great; Tracy’s bus sang all the way,

When we stopped at the rest stop, those kids did say,

Let’s do our dance and sing our favorite song,

Up on the sidewalk it won’t take too long,

As they sang people gathered and one man stood by,

He said “You should have been there” then Sonja cried…….

“WE WERE!!!”

The trip’s winding down I’m sad to see it end,

But we’ll be back next year, it’s just around the bend.

We all arrived safely so glad that we came,

Now all that we are doing is waiting on James………..

(Love ya James)

Winterfest 2008- Let us know!

•March 17, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Ok, we made it home after a blessed weekend.  You saw it, I saw it, and we all felt it.  So now I want to know  something, anything, about your experience at Winterfest this year.  How did the Lord touch you?  What important decision did you make?  What Chains did you break with the Lords help?  What demon, habit, addiction, attitude, anything did you leave at his feet and turn over to him?  Let us know!  There is no reason we cannot feel like we did at those services everyday of our lives and take those feelings, and that love to the “highways” and “By-ways” as Reggie said.  Let us know here!

Winterfest ReCap (2008)

•March 13, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Parents, I will try to write in this post daily (nightly) and keep you informed of what’s happening!  Feel free to respond to the posts with any questions or comments you may have.

  • Thursday, 10:00pm:  We arrived safely and without any problems.  We are still waiting on brother James to get here as he drives somewhat slowly.  Just kidding, he kept up!  We have already checked in for Winterfest and got our passes, so tomorrow hopefully we will have good weather.  Rain is being called for but we all know the weathermen are wrong 50-70% of the time so hopefully the rain will hold off.  Our accommodations are pretty nice, we are mostly on the second floor with the exception of 5 rooms that are on the 1st floor.  There is a small river that runs behind our hotel, and I hope to have pictures posted tomorrow sometime of where we are at as well as from the Church before we left.   Don’t forget to Check out the link on the right of the website to watch Winterfest Live!  Maybe you will spot your teen!  Anyhow, that is all for now, God Bless!
  • Friday, AM:  I think most people got to sleep around 1:30, I did anyhow.  We were able to drive into Knoxville this morning and purchase reserved tickets so hopefully we won’t have to stand in the rain!  Right now we are at NASCAR speedpark, but unfortunately the rain has put an end to any paint trading with the go-carts, but with the wonders of today’s technology I am posting this as well as yesterdays pictures to the web from the parking lot. Plenty of shops to walk around and look at though.  Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be the same thing so we are trying to figure out what fun indoor activity we can do with 40-something teens!  Got any ideas?  That’s all for now, if the 5 hours of sleep I got last night will allow for me to stay up once we get to the hotel tonight after service I will post again!  Until then, God Bless you all for allowing your kids to come to this wonderful event!
  • Sat. 12:53 am:  Well we are done with our first day, and first service of Winterfest.  We are all back at the hotel and winding down from an exciting night.  The Lord was touching our teens tonight.  I would say that at least 1/3 of them went down for the Alter call at the end of the service.  Friday night is pretty much a “warm up” to Saturday where the Lord will surely be blessing us again, and touching the hearts of these great kids.  That’s all for now, sorry about the lack of eloquence but I am BEAT!  I am going to sign off for now and post the pictures from tonight.

  • Saturday, 2:00 pm:  Today we came to Gatlinburg to walk around the shops.  Unfortunately the rain started pretty much as soon as we got here and has not stopped since so I assume most are somewhat “water-logged”.  A groups went upto “Ober over Gatlinburg” to ice skate, and some went on the chairlift to the top to be met by some thunder and lightening and the chair lift shutting down.  I believe by way of Cell Phone we found out that they had to be brought back down from the top by vehicles.  More on last night……Our message was about having a “salt covenant” with the Lord.  Each person in attendance was given a small bag full of salt that they could use as a symbol of creating a Covenant with the Lord.  Be sure to ask your teen if they did this and what it is about.  The Salt Covenant is one of the oldest in the World and is symbolic of endurance, preservation and freedom from corruption.  Entering one self into a salt covenant means to bind yourself in the utmost loyalty and truthfulness, even suffering death rather than breaking this covenant.  Any offering that was given to God was to always be sprinkled with salt because of it’s pureness.  Did you know that if you took a fly, yes a fly, and drowned it in water and killed it, that if you then took it out of the water, buried it in salt, that you could bring it back to life!?!!  If that does not speak volumes for the pureness of salt, and how we should be truthful, and unwavering in our relationship and Love for the Lord, then what does?  I (we) am very excited about tonight and what the Lord has in store for us.  Saturday night as I mentioned in my post last night is typically even more spiritual than Friday’s!  I remember last year having to carry people back to the bus because they were so inebriated with the Holy Spirit.  Oh Lord I pray you will do the same this year, ten fold!  Rain down your Spirit and Love as if we were having a flood!  more to come…sometime early Sunday morning!
  • Saturday, 11:45pm:  Wow!  What a service.  What a Spirit filled service!  I guarantee you your child was touched tonight by the Holy Spirit.  There was no escaping it.  You know at times, especially with teens, things like pride may get in the way and maybe stop them from an alter call, or stop them from raising their hands in praise.  Ha! Ha! No way was that happening tonight!  I don’t care how stubborn they may have been, they got broke down tonight!  They got free from the chains that were binding them, they got Spirit filled!  All through out the arena, Kids, Youth Pastors, Chaperones, Ushers, Security, Food vendors, Janitors, anyone that was in that building at one point or another, had chill bumps, they cried, they laughed, they spoke in tongues, and most of all they felt the Love of a Loving father who can and did break any and all chains that may have had them binded.  I believe tomorrows service will only be a continuance of tonight’s.  That the Lord will continue to Flood us with his presence and his Love.  And I just pray that once these kids get home, they continue to feel the Lord in their life and that they spread that Love for the Lord throughout their schools, and throughout their communities, and that we will see a revival not only throughout our Church and Youth group but throughout oour entire area.  Praise the Lord!
  • PS:  be sure to check out the pictures!!  At some point we will get a movie presentation put together to share with you all!

  • Monday- We made it!:  Sorry to get slack yesterday once we arrived home and not post anything but whew!  Was I worn out as was everyone else.  We finally made ithome yesterday from a lomg but Blessed weekend!  Even James made it home!  He took a detour to Spartanburg and we all got a laugh at his expense since if you look up at my first post you can see I said we made it to Tennessee but were still waiting on James to arrive…Well the same was said in closing yesterday when we arrived back home!  We love you James!  Anyhow, it was an amazing weekend!  I personally feel like every year Winterfest only get’s better.  Our kids as well as all of the adults were truely touched, and blessed by the Lord this weekend.  I feel certain that lives were changed forever and would like to close by Praising the Lord for all of his blessings.  I know I am not worthy of one blessing from him, but everyday he let’s me know he loves me in some way or another.  Thank you Jesus!
